AROUND THIS TIME OF YEAR, Brussels sprout plants want to complete their journey to flower and set seed. The crown of the plant begins to open up and resembles a cabbage of sorts. I find them incredibly beautiful in both form and color, especially in the light of late afternoon sun. The varieties shown here are Rubine and Bubbles.
Please post where you found Bubbles Brussels Sprouts seeds! They appear to have vanished here in Ohio. Thanks!
Hi Kathy, I ordered ‘Bubbles’ from Territorial Seed 2007 catalog. Try a google search for them. I know that they were not available in the TS 2014 catalog.
Thanks — I have been Googling for a couple of years now, and it would appear that “Bubbles” has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Too bad. It was my favorite variety. That’s what happens when you stray from the open-pollinated path, I guess –!
Kathy, I still have some seed and it was viable last year. I would be happy to send you half of the seeds that I have. Perhaps then we could both save some seed for later planting. How does that sound? if you would like the seed, you can email me at the address on the about page.
